July 2017 saw a number of policy changes in the global renewable power market.

In the Americas, in the US, New Hampshire's new bill becomes law profiting the biomass power producers. H.R. 2786, a bill to revise the Federal Power Act with reference to the criteria and procedures to be entitled as a qualifying conduit hydropower facility has passed the House of Representatives. The Canadian Province of Nunavut offers support for a net metering program. Brazil launches its 10 year plan for energy expansion 2026.

In Asia-Pacific, in India, the state of Uttar Pradesh published its draft solar power policy 2017 and the country witnessed rollout of the Goods and Service Tax (GST). The Australian state of Victoria's Renewable Energy Action Plan was launched. Thailand increased its renewable energy target.

In the Middle East and Africa, Iran's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) is working toward relaunch of its solar feed-in tariff (FiT) program for 100 kilowatts (kW). Mauritius' Central Electricity Board (CEB) introduces Phase II of its small -scale distributed generation net metering program.
